On the verandah of this house a darkey quartette sang some good old darkey songs accompanied by the twang twang of the banjo after which several of the coons dressed in loud yellow checkered trousers, red neckties, big ( imitation ) diamonds and patent leather shoes with yellow tops, proceeded to cut her loose and go through a rattling good jig to the tune of " Whistling Rufus. "On the opposite side of the Midway stood " Darlmess amd Dawn " another good Midway attraction. Just below this was the entrance to the " Streets of Mexico " As we passed by we caught a glimpse of several of the Mexican dancing girls and the Bull fighters on the front platform where they were on exhibition, The Mexican Band over the entrance was making a Noise but thats all that could be said in their favor. Above this was the " Panoptican " and on the other side of the street was the Thompson " AERIO CYCLE " and the " TRIP to the MOON." Next to this was the "ESQUIMAUX VILLAGE". The entrance and front to this village represented a mass of ice peaks in the frozen north. They were painted a greenish color and imitated ice to perfection. The Ballyhoo consisted of the native dance by two greasy fur clad Esquimaux and the exhibition of a mother and child. A team of Esquimaux dogs were also placed on exhibition.
